Finally Fall

Old Navy Dress
Dress - Old Navy / Scarf - JCrew / Booties - Dolce Vita / Rings - Kendra Scott

I found this dress at Old Navy and it's a perfect piece to wear in many different ways. For a fun fall day up at Apple Hill, I paired this with my plaid scarf and booties. This dress is so versatile - I plan on dressing it up with nude pumps or adding some flair by throwing on my black leather jacket.

Pretty in Plaid

Pretty in Plaid

Plaid is back again and it is one of my favorite looks for the season. This classic print just screams fall and I am excited to start incorporating it into my style again. I have found that there are many ways to make this basic print look stylish, so I've put together some ideas to pull the look together.

Add a Pop of Color
Black and white plaid is a great way to make this look feel fresh. To brighten it up, add a bright bag, preferably in the berry color family, for fall.
This look: Dress - ASOS / Purse - Michael Kors / Shoes - Valentino

Mix Prints
A great way to quickly and easily add plaid into your look is to throw on a scarf. Spice it up by mixing it with some fun stripes and a boyfriend blazer!
This look: Blazer - JCrew / Tee - JCrew / Scarf - JCrew

Glam It Up
Add a little something extra to a flannel by pairing it with a sparkling necklace and a great pair of booties. I personally like these black and leopard DV by Dolce Vita booties as they add a little bit of flair to the look.
This look: Booties - DV by Dolce Vita / Top - JCrew Factory / Necklace - JCrew

Layer on the Leather
Pairing a leather top with a plaid skirt or pants can help add sophistication to your look. Elevate it even further by adding a pair of classic pointy toe  pumps.
This look: Top - Michael Kors / Skirt - ASOS / Shoes - BCBG

How will you be wearing plaid this fall?

Ladylike Leather

Leather Dress
Dress - Tildon / Bracelet - Juicy Couture (on sale!) / Shoes - Valentino / Purse - Prada
Last fall, I wanted to find the perfect leather skirt at the perfect price. Go figure, I had absolutely no luck and I am still on the hunt for a leather skirt. When I started to look at all of the fall trends, I wanted to add in a great leather dress into my closet to wear on the warmer days. I walked into Nordstrom a few days later and was surprised to  see this dress in the new Savvy section. It fit great and I loved the burgundy color. Nordstrom has a lot of different options and prices for leather dresses, including some in their Topshop line. Click here to see more leather dresses.

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target
Top - 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target / Jeans - JCrew / Shoes - Zara / Ring - Madewell, similar style here
On Sunday, Target unveiled their latest designer line, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target. I scored two pieces from the Target line, this top and a fun graphic print sweatshirt. I snagged this top as I could wear it with many different pieces. Yesterday evening, I paired it with these jeans for a casual afternoon look. For a night out on the town, I plan on styling this with my leather leggings to give it an edgier vibe. This is also a great top for work, all that it needs is a nice trouser pant or skirt to be tucked into. You can see the entire line here.

New York Fashion Week

While I thought I was ready for Fall, looking at all of the beautiful garments on display during fashion week made me excited for what is to come in Spring 2014! I absolutely loved viewing all of the beautiful fashions online and found several trends that I am looking forward to wearing next year and even some I will be incorporating this Fall and Winter! You can see all of the looks on popsugar.com.

NYFW Greens

There were several shows that I found myself loving almost every piece that came down the runway. One of these was Kate Spade, which is no surprise as I love the mix of preppy feminine fashion with bright, cheery colors and fabrics. Kate Spade always does a superb job of balancing these elements and it shows in the spring line. I love the chic tailoring and silvery shimmer seen in these fabrics and cuts. These combined elements allow for a lady-like allure. I wish I could snag the pink coat sooner as I would love to wear it through December, as it would allow me to brighten up those cold, dreary days with some warmth.

NYFW Prints
Designers: Alice + Olivia / Clover Canyon / JCrew /  Clover Canyon / JCrew
Prints have been the rage this past year and I am excited to see even more on the runway for spring! The use of vibrant colors paired with pastels makes the outfit stunning and sophisticated. It probably comes as no surprise that I have fallen in love with two of JCrew's printed pieces as they are one of my favorite stores to shop at. I also discovered a new designer (at least to me), Clover Canyon. The Clover Canyon show was a lot of fun to view since there were many neat prints and great color palettes on the pieces!

Designers: Prabal Gurung / Tory Burch / Tory Burch / J. Mendel / Oscar de la Renta
Emerald was this year's Pantone Color of the Year and I'm happy to report that greens are not going anywhere. This color can be unexpected and screams spring. I personally believe that there is a green that flatters everyone and it's a great way to brighten up a fun, flirty dress. I am pleased to see that we will be seeing more greens in Spring 2014.

NYFW Neutrals
Designers: Alice + Olivia / J. Mendel / Nanette Lepore / Rebecca Taylor
Neutrals tend to be a constant for winter and spring and it was interesting to see how the designers interpreted this look for Spring. The common theme was to add a little edge or masculine elements to the look. Another way the designers avoided looking too feminine was by using clean lines, as seen in the J. Mendel dress. Neutrals and lace are gorgeous, but the look is even better when it isn't too sweet.

NYFW Black and White
Designers: J. Mendel / Proenza Schouler / DVF / Prabal Gurung / Alice + Olivia
One of my favorite looks from this year's NYFW was black and white. It's very chic and classic and is best worn in winter and spring. The designers are pairing this look with interesting prints and shapes to keep it fresh. These looks are timeless, flattering and far from boring.

Style For All Seasons

JCrew Top
Top - JCrew / Jeans - JCrew / Shoes - Sachelle / Clutch - Claire Vivier / Bracelet - JCrew / Sunnies - Tory Burch

The best purchases are those that can be easily paired with many pieces and can be worn for all types of events. I picked up this beautiful top from JCrew over the weekend and it was on sale times two! The best part is that I loved this top the last time I popped in; however I just could not pull the trigger with the price tag along with it. This time I did not hesitate as this top is just a great piece to have in my closet. The navy and green can be worn during all times of the year and go with so many different bottoms. For the end of the summer, I've also been wearing this top with white shorts. I can also see this blouse with trowsers or a skirt for the dressier occassions.
