Sweets for a Smile

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Today I snuck out around 7AM to score some deals at the mall and then ran back home to relax and start getting into the Christmas spirit. I made these gifts last year with my mother-in-law and loved the idea so much that I decided to make these take-out gift packages again. I selected a new tasty treat that requires very little work and no actual baking (score!). The best part about making a handful of these is that you can carry them around with you in your car and give them as needed. They make a great gift to the hostess at a party or to your beloved vet that takes good care of your bratty ratties or dogs.

I found these cute kraft boxes at Michaels, along with the glittery ribbon by Martha Stewart. I liked the combination of the two because it's easy, yet festive and can be reused for other holidays. My treat for this year is an amazingly delicious s'mores kettle corn mix that I found here. Enjoy and happy gifting!

What you'll need:

Take out boxes
Ribbon
Gift Tags (if preferred)
Caramel Kettle Corn - home recipe here
Mini Marshmallows
Golden Graham Cereal
Chocolate
Wax Paper

I decided to make the caramel kettle corn (recipe above and here) and had a good laugh with my husband as we shook up the caramel and popcorn in a grocery bag. Personally, I love the homemade recipe and it was fairly easy to make!

Once the kettle corn mix has been made, you can start putting together your gift boxes. Lining the boxes with wax paper will allow them to stay clean so that your giftee can reuse these and pass along a smile. Plus, it helps give another layer to wrap the treats up with to help keep them fresh!

Fill up the boxes and give away!

A Fantastic Flannel

Jcrew flannel
Top - Jcrew / Jeans - Hudson / Heels - CL Pigalle / Clutch - Claire Vivier / Bracelet - Jcrew / Rings - Kendra Scott

I love this Jcrew flannel as it has such rich colors, but I wanted to style it in a way that would give it a dressed up feeling. I wore my flannel with skinny jeans and fun heels and then tied the ends into a knot to give it a more fitted look. The change in shape in the top makes a huge difference in the look of my flannel - the top now has a little something extra and a slimmer silhouette. This easy trick is great and gives my flannel a whole new look!

Holiday Cheer

Holiday Fashion
Top - Trouve (old), similar style here / Skirt - Anthropologie / Shoes - CL Pigalle / Earring - Anthropologie / Bracelet - Charming Charlie
It is getting close to the holiday season and with events already falling on my calendar, I have been in search of some fun pieces that I can wear and bring out the holiday cheer. This skirt has been on my wish list for quite some time! I love giving it a more relaxed vibe with my chambray shirt. For colder days, I am planning on styling this lively skirt with black tights, booties and a nice sweater.

Winter Coats

This year, the statement coat is definitely in! While I have my beloved coral coat as seen here, I am finding that I am craving a darker coat that can easily be worn with all of my clothes. These are my favorites that I have found. I love how small, exquisite details are incorporated into many of the plaid prints this year. When searching for the perfect coat to add to your wardrobe, look for those little details, because they can instantly change the look.  I personally look at the buttons and trim when searching for a great coat.

Casually Chic

Casually Chic
First Look: Leggings - Heart Boutique, similar style here / Shoes - Chanel / Necklace - JCrew   Second Look: Leggings - Nordstrom / Boots - Dolce Vita, similar style here / Necklace - Heart Boutique

Some days I just want to be comfortable; however I always want to look stylish and pulled together when I am out and about on the town. I have found that the perfect combination to achieve this look is a nice long sweater and leggings. I paired my new JCrew sweater with two different legging to achieve different looks. To dress up this look, I wore my leather leggings and sparkly necklace with my new flats from my New York trip. Dressing down this sweater was also easy to do. I wore my regular leggings and added my boots to help keep me warm.

Weekend Wear

Flannel around the waist
Sweaters - Singnorelli / Flannel - Old Navy / Jeans - Hudson / Shoes - Christian Louboutin Pigalle / Jewelry - Kendra Scott
I am totally in love with this throwback 90s trend of wearing a top tied around your waist. Back in middle school I used to rock a cardigan around my waist, but I am much more thrilled to see that this oldie is brought back with a flannel top. I threw on my new favorite heels with this outfit to give this comfy outfit a little pizzazz.
